Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there's been oodles of interesting research into the disease and how it spreads.

This week we've covered a particularly intriguing new paper in the IOP Publishing journal Machine Learning Science & Technology, which shows how computers could halt a future pandemic by indicating which individuals should be tested for the disease.

Though the model has yet to be tested under real-world conditions, it could be useful in the early stages of an epidemic, when tests are scarce and little is known about how a new disease spreads.
